Question 1

What is BaZi (Four Pillars of Destiny)?

Accepted Answer

BaZi (八字), literally 'Eight Characters' or the Four Pillars of Destiny, is a traditional Chinese metaphysical system based on the cosmic alignment of Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches at your birth year, month, day, and hour. It maps your elemental DNA (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water) and personal life cycles.

Question 2

Why is True Solar Time necessary for accurate BaZi calculations?

Accepted Answer

Standard civil clock time uses broad political time zones that do not reflect true solar noon at your birth location. Because the Hour Pillar shifts every two hours, a difference of even a few minutes can completely alter your Hour Pillar and astrological analysis. BaZi Flow automatically corrects for geographic longitude and the equation of time.

Question 3

What is the Day Master (日主) in Chinese astrology?

Accepted Answer

The Day Master (日主 or 日元) is the Heavenly Stem of your birth day. It represents your core self, elemental identity, psychological instincts, and temperament. The other seven characters in your chart interact with the Day Master as resources, output, wealth, or discipline (Ten Gods).

Question 4

Can BaZi calculate marriage and partnership compatibility (HeHun)?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Traditional Chinese HeHun (八字合婚) analyzes the energetic complementation between two individuals' Four Pillars, comparing Day Masters, Spouse Palaces (Day Branches), and Five Elements distribution to provide deep relationship insights.

Question 5

Is BaZi Flow free to use?

Accepted Answer

Yes. BaZi Flow provides 100% free access to birth chart calculations, Five Elements balances, 10-year luck pillars, marriage compatibility, Chinese Almanac (Tong Sheng), and Zodiac forecasts.
